On the occasion of my retirement from government
service, I want to thank you for the spirit of cooperation
you have shown toward the work of the DCI Security Committee,
first as a member and more recently as an active observer.
My particular thanks for the constructive counsel you've
offered to help us thread our way through many the difficult
and perplexing situations. I have greatly valued of your knowledge and understanding of security issues. A
good part of the credit for the Committee's accomplishments
rightfully goes to people like you.
I know that my successor as chairman can look forward
to continued support from you. I have enjoyed working
with you toward our common objective of sound security
for the nation's intelligence activities.
