MONTHLY ACTIVITIES REPORT

2. A Committee staff member assisted in arranging a
briefing at CIA Headquarters for the judges of the United
States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and. Court of
Review. The briefing covered the role of the DCI and the
Intelligence Community, CIA organization., mission, and
relationship to the Community, the intelligence requirements,
analysis and dissemination process in support of the President
and other policy makers, security procedures, and the screening
of proposals for electronic surveillance for foreign intel-
ligence purposes.

3. Arrangements were made for the chairman of the
Committee's Computer Security Subcommittee to have observer
status on the newly formed working group on computer security
of the National Communications Security Committee. This
relationship will enhance the interchange of information
between the parent committees and assure inst duplication
of effort in computer security matters.

4. A final draft of the APEX Government Manual, incor-
porating changes suggested by NFIB agencies, was prepared by
the Committee staff and disseminated to the Community by the
Special Assistant to the DCI for Compartmentation for review
and final approval. F
5. The Committee staff completed action on the security 25X1A
manual and briefing guide for the I subcompartment.
This was provided to concerned NFIB agencies for implementation.
7. The Committee's Investigative Standards Working Group
continued its analysis of personnel security investigations
conducted under DCID 1/14 standards. The results of this
effort are being prepared. in a report to provide a basis for 25X1A
recommendations on possible changes to DCID 1/14. 0
