Approved For Release 2006/08/14: CIA-RDP82T00285R000200080008-8 ADMIITRATIVE-INTERNAL USE ONLY NPIC/D-330/79 AUG 2 9 1979 MEMORANDUM FOR:, Director of Logistics SUBJECT REFERENCE : Shuttle Service : Memo dtd 10 Aug 79 to D/NFAC,.D/NP IC, Subject: Shuttle Service Between Headquartersl Interim Report 1. We appreciate your interim report on the trial shuttle service, and we agree with your identification of factors that have contributed to the relatively light usage so far--inadequate publicity, the vacation period, and the schedule. We remain convinced, however, that there is an urgent requirement for adequate shuttle service between nd Headquarters, and we are concerned t~at the need will become even greater when the pay parking system begin on 1 October. 2. We have recently taken addit' provide better STAT publicity for the shuttle both within nd Headquarters components. We would appreciate any additional ac ions you might be able to take in this regard or any suggestions you might have for us. Extending the trial period for the shuttle well beyond the normal vacation period should increase usage and we appreciate your efforts to do so. However, we urge that you extend the period--as recommended by John Hicks--at least through the end of October rather than September, as you suggested. 3. There is no questi great deal of official STAT travel between Headquarters but the trial shuttle simply is not catching it because ent scheduling. We have been keeping logs the past few weeks of all such travel --by shuttle and by other means.. Although the data collected so far are still not complete, enough of a pattern is emerging to show that a different schedule is necessary in order to make the shuttle service meet the needs of most of the people moving between the two buildings.
