WHERE CABLE TRENCHING EXTENDS FROM THE LAUNCH
CONTROL FACILITY TO A NEARBY SUPPOR`r BUNKER. THE PAVING BLOCKS
REMAIN IN PLACE; HOWEVER, A CONVOY COPdSISTING OF THREE SS-5
PROPELLANT TRAiVSPORTERS AND TWO SUPPORT VEHICLES IS ON A ROAD
APPROXIMATELY 2 i~TM SOUTHEAST OF 'THE LAUNCH SITE AT
42-46-48N 047-22-30E. THIS ACTIVITY SUGGESTS THAT PROPELLANT
HAS BEEN OFFLOADED FROM ONE OF THE MISSILES AT THE SITE AND
THAT SITE DEACTIVATION IS IN THE PRELIMINARY STAGES.
IN THE PAST, REMOVAL OF THE PAVIi~iG BLOCKS FROM THE LAUNCH APRON
HAS BEEN AN INDICATOR OF LAUNCH SITE DEACTIVATION. SINCE
JANUARY 1981, MR/IRBM LAUNCH SITE DEACTIVATION HAS BEEN
OBSERVED AT TORVA, LUTSK, KIVERTSY, KROLEVETS, DOLINA, VSELYUB,
AND MAYKOP (GRAPHIC 2 OF 2).

GELLI R~AUNCH SITE 2 (GRAPHIC 1 OF 2), A PORTION OF THE
PAVING BLOCKS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE LAUNCH SITE ACCESS
ROAD, AND THE LAUNCH CONTROL FACILITIES HAVE BEEN PARTIALLY
EXCAVATED. SEVERAL SUPPORT VEHICLES ARE AT EACIi SITE, AND AT
LAUNCH SITE 1, A BULLDOZER IS ALSO PRESENT. PROBABLE
DEACTIVATION IS IN PROGRESS AT GELLI IRBM LAUNCH SITE 3
