DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED IN THE TOWN
1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: THE TOWN OF QASR-E SHIRIN, 2.5 NM EAST OF
THE IRAN-IRAQ BORDER, HAS BEEN RAZED BY IRAQI FORCES.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: FEW STRUCTURES REMAIN STANDING WITHIN THE TOWN
(GRAPH1(SCI-AND 2, ONLY PART OF TOWN ON GRAPHICS). NO MAJOR
(S/D) THE FORWARD EDGE OF THE BATTLE AREA IN THE QASR-E SHIRIN
AREA IN IRAN APPEARS TO BE UNCHANGED. IRAQI FORCES CONTROL THE
TOWN OF QASR-E SHIRIN, AND IRANIAN FORCES CONTROL THE TOWN OF
POL-E ZOHAB WHICH IS 14.5 IN-1 EAST-SOUTHEAST. NO EVIDENCE OF
HOSTILITIES IS OBSERVED IN THE AREA.
