2. (S/D) REMARKS: A NEWLY IDENTIFIED TRACKED PROBABLE
TRANSPORTER-ERECTOR-LAUNCIHER (TEL) IS ON THE INFIELD AREA OF
LAUNCH AREA C. THE TEL, WHICH CONSISTS OF AN UNIDENTIFIED
BOX-SHAPED STRUCTURE ON A PROBABLE CHINESE
TYPE-62 TANK CHASSIS, HAS ARRIVED THE
THE TEL IS CABLE CONNECTED TO THE FOG LAMP
TRACKING GUIDANCE RADAR AND THE RICE SCREEN PLANAR ARRAY RADAR
WHICH ARE IN THE NEARBY TRACKING AND GUIDANCE AREA. BOTH THE
FOG LAMP AND THE RICE SCREEN RADAR HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN SAM
TESTING AT SHUANGCHENGZI SINCE MID-MARCH 1982.
(S/D) SINCE 1975, LAUNCH AREA C HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENTAL TESTING OF THE CSA-X-2 SAM SYSTEM.
