1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: THE PRESENCE OF TWO SL-11 SPACE LAUNCH
VEHICLES LV PROVIDES CONTINUING EVIDENCE OF A HIGH LEVEL OF
ACTIVITY.
2. (;/D) REMAi7KS: TWO SL-11 SPACE LAUNCH VEHICLES (SLV) ARE BEING
PREPARED FOR LAUNCH AT TYURATAM SPACE LAUNCH TEST SITE Gl A/B
AT 0948Z. AT LAUNCH PAD A, AN ANTISATELLITE (ASAT) PAYLOAD IS
ON AN ERECTED SL-11. THE IN-PAD ERECTOR AND MISSILE
TRANSPORTER ARE SUPPORTING THE SLV. AT 1105Z, DEFSMAC REPORTED
THAT AN ASAT INTERCEPTOR WAS LAUNCHED BY AN SL-11 FROM TYURATAM
(S/DQ/475/82). AT LAUNCH PAD B, AN SLV WITH A PROBABLE RADAR.
OCEAN RECONNAISSANCE (RORSAT) PAYLOAD OR AN ELINT OCEAN
RECONNAISSANCE (EORSAT) PAYLOAD IS ON A RAIL TRANSPORTER OVER
THE IN-PAD ERECTOR. NO OTHER SUPPORT VEHICLES ARE ON THE PAD.
IN THE PAST, SL-11 LAUNCHES HAVE FREQUENTLY OCCURRED WITHIN 24
HOURS OF THE LAUNCH VEHICLES BEING ON THE LAUNCH PAD. THE ONLY
PAYLOADS LAUNCHED BY THE SL-11 FROM TEST SITE Cl A/B ARE THE
ASAT, RORSAT, AND EORSAT.
THE LAST LAUNCH FROM TEST SITE Cl A/B OCCURRED
WHEN A PROBABLE RORSAT WAS PLACED INTO ORBIT BY AN SLm SLV.
