1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: THE SOVIETS CONTINUE TO DEACTIVATE THEIR
OLDER MR/IRBM L UNCH SITES.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: GELLI IRBM LAUNCH SITE 3 IS BEING DEACTIVATED.
THE LAUNCH CONTROL FACILITY AND A SMALL SUPPORT BUNKER NEAR THE
INNER SECURITY FENCE HAVE BEEN RAZED, A SECTION OF THE PAVING
BLOCKS HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE ACCESS ROAD, AND THE EXHAUST
DEFLECTOR RINGS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM AND ARE NEXT TO THE
THREE OPEN SILOS. A TRUCK MOUNTED CRANE, A BULLDOZER, AND TWO
OTHER VEHICLES ARE ONSITE.
SITE DEACTIVATION WAS UNDERWAY AT THE OTHER TWO
HARD IRBM LAUNCH SITES AT GELLI: GELLI IRBM LAUNCH SITE 1
AND GELLI IRBM LAUNCH SITE 2

DEACTIVATION AT GELLI LAUNCH SITE 3 WAS IN THE PRELIMINARY
STAGES AT THAT TIME. SINCE JANUARY 1981, MR/IRBM LAUNCH SITE
DEACTIVATION ACTIVITY HAS BEEN OBSERVED AT THE TORVA, LUTSK,
KIVERTSY, KROLEVETS, DOLINA, VSELYUB, MAYKOP, MOLOSKOVITSY, AND
GELLI MISSILE COMPLEXES.
