This interagency course is designed to introduce Community analysts to the use of information handling systems and their application in the discipline of Imagery Analysis. Each student will be taught to apply computer library programs to imagery analysis problems. He learns BASIC and specific programming techniques. He also learns to apply Operations Research principles such as Queueing, Linear Programming, Probability, Statistics, Correlation and Regression, Bayes' Theorem, and Network Analysis to typical problems encountered in his discipline. OBJECTIVES Each participant will be able to: 1. Decide when systems concepts apply to problems in his own area of imagery analysis. 2. Apply information science computer library programs to imagery analysis problems. 3. Use a computer terminal in a time- sharing system in performing basic specific programming techniques. 4. Use information science terms and nomenclature with sufficient skill to communicate effectively with experienced systems professionals. No previous technical or scientific education or training is necessary. SECURITY Final TOP SECRET security clearance with certification of access to SI TK is required. DATE and TIME 26 July through 6 August 1976. 0900 to 1600 hours daily, two weeks, full time. 4600 N. Fairfax Drive, Arlington, Virginia, (Chamber of Commerce Building). No transportation will be provided. Detailed instructions on directions to the building, including details on parking, will be mailed to the students prior to the start of the course. REGISTRATION Form 73, "Request for Internal Training," must be submitted to OTR/ISTB, Chamber of Commerce Building, by 30 June 1976. These requests will be submitted through the Training Officer of each Directorate and through the Cover and Commercial Staff, as personnel of other Intelligence Community agencies will attend this course.
