Attached is material. .pertaining to an "?rientation to ODP" program which is about to be implemented in ODP. The objective of this Orientation is to provide neat EOD's, at all grade levels, an inft~rmal overview of ODP, how it is orgsni~e~d, how it fits into the Df;rectorate, Agency and Community, and how it functions in meeting its primary mission. In part, this is Text to be necessary because of the geograph- ical dispersion of t3DP in vomponenta now located in Ames Buil.ding,~uilding and Headquarters. 2? The MZ Bgard recently ecsncluded that new EOD's should attend OTR's orientation courses a,nd they are now mandatory for all, new employees of ODP. tie don't believe th?se orientation, can be erected to prey?nt Kampiles-like problems, but we do think it should be Agency policy that all n?w employees attend the aggropriate orientation within a few months after entezing on duty. 3. We agrees with that more needs to be done in terms of clerical or entation. However, we don't think a correspondence manual. would be useful because of the lack of $n Agency-wide correspondence standard. We think we should concentrate on the many areaes of commonality throughout the Agency which clericals/secretaries must now learn verse they are a~asigned. Just a few that come immediately to mind are: Approved For Release 2006/02/01 :CIA-RDP83-001568000300040118-1 ,,;,,~! . Such an Ori~-ntation could be built around the theme of "CJffice Practices in CTA". Should the day. come when a correspondence standard is devel- oped and implemented Agency-wide, a correspondence manual would be a useful addition. /s% truce ?, Jn~~+~eN Bruce T.
