1. On 11 February a new Astmcion television station began transmitting
in color with 30 watts on (~armel 13. It broadcasts daily-from 1500-
0300 GNir .
2, Intensive cruising was conducted to find a morning Brazilian.
newscast to replace Porto Alegre Radio Gaucha in Portuguese at 1545
GNa', which was lost to interference from a 1oca1 radio station. Four
newscasts were found and are now being evaluated.
3. Other cruising observations during the month included:
a. Asuncion Domestic Service in Spanish was observed on a new
frequency of 11915 I~IZ .

ENGINEERING REPORT
February 1981
Paraguay Bureau
1. With the help of regional engineer
a protected
STP
(hot-standby) Farinon microwave system was installed at the bureau .and
Antelco receiver site, replacing the unprotected system installed
in 1979. Additionally nine of our TRG Multicouplers located in
Antelco's RF patch were removed, checked and reinstalled. Repairs
were made as required. Rewiring of Antelco RF patch was completed
according to FBIS and Antelco requirements for multicoupler out-
put.
2. Preventive maintenance on the Collins 651 S receivers was be-
gun according to instructions of the regional engineer.
3. Twenty-three multicouplers were performance-tested and preven-
tive maintenance has been completed.
4. The following equipment was received from headquarters during
the month:
Programmable Timer AKAI mod. DT 250, two each. Price per unit--
$120.00.
Cassette Recorders, six each.
5. The following excess equipment was transferred:
Teletype, Teletype Corp. Mod. KSR 28. Price per unit $1,168.00
Receivers, Collins 514-J, three each. Total price $2,192.40
Crossovers, Dual, ten each. Total Price $5,450.00
Calculator, Victor. One only. Total pri e $677.50
