All war criminals were previously handed over to their governments, but the Hungarian Government, in view of the labor shortage, applied to the Allied Commission in Budapest for permission to employ these people in the bauxite mines. The necessary authorization was given by the Soviet representatives. 4. The Tata mines are administered by some 50 officials from the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Production, and are supervised by a Soviet Commission (of three members) which sees that the agreed quota of bauxite is dispatched to the Soviet Union.
