Electric Current (Electric Power Plant) U ' S ' l Only y electric a. There is a large/power plant in the village of Artemovski, which is about 10 kilometers east of the city of Shakhty. In Krasnodar there is a large electric power plant, 9. Metal Works a. In Ordzhonikidze there is a large plant which works zinc, tin and copper mined in that region. This plant is the only one of its kind in the Caucasus. 12. War Factories a. War factory ZIP. 2-3 kilometers outsje of Krasnodar there is a factory which is called ZIP (Zavod Ismeri' eln h PriboroV) which manufactures various gauges such as pressure gauges, thermometers for c{adgulating agents, gauges for electricity and artillery and other gases used in automobiles and airplanes. be In Krasnodar there is a factory which manufactures agricultural tools and other factory tools. During the war this factory was converted into a factory for manufacturing land mines and small firearms. c. In Krasnodar there is a factory which makes caramels. Its daily output is 30-40 tons. During the war this factory was converted into a factory for manufacturing land mines only. d. Bel-Mas Factory. 10-15 kilometers east of Rostov ontherailvoad line going towards Novocherkassk there is a factory named S.e-Mash. This factory manufactures tractors, threshing machines and various other farming machines. It also manufactures land mines, firearms of various sized and tanks. About 60,000 workers are employed at this factory. This is the largest war factory in the Caucasus. 13. Airfields and Aeronautic Schools 25X1 a. Rostov - 6 to 7 kilometers north of Rostov there is a large civilian airfield. 3-4 lometers of this airfield there is a large military airfield. h+xzx3at4 be Novocherkassk - 3 to 4 kilometers west of Novocherkassk there is an airfield - use by civilians and the army. There is also an aeronautic school in this city. o. Shakhty - There is a military airfield about 2-4 kilometers south of the city. d. 'Stavropol - There is a small airfield 5 kilometers east of the city. - n the city there is an aeronautic school. 14. The Kura and Kuban Rivers a. The width of the Kura River is 100 meters and the depth is about 1.5 meters around the region of Tbill.si, where,many small boats sails. b. Gold is mined from the Kuban River around the city of Mikoyan Shakhar. No other details are known. a. There are 7-8 large factories producing iron products in Dniepropetrovsk. There are 3-4 in logks"ska Stalino and 2 in Makeyevka. These factories manufacture agricultural tooll, lathes, nails and water pipes. They also manufacture tanks, firearms, machine guns, military wires, etc. 2. Chemical Works a. In Dniepropetrovsk there is a large plant which makes fertilizers and chemical gases. It;ol`called Zavod Petrov$kogo and is the largest of its kind in the Ukraine. During the war this plant was converted into a war plant and manufactured tanks, land mines, firearms and machine guns. b. There are 2-3 chemical plants in Stalino which produce fertilizers and chemical gases.
