1, In a recent Cominformist roundup, an assistant professor (unidentified)
at the Bacteriological Institute of the Ljubljana University was taken
into UDB custody. Following his confession of complicity in the alleged
Cominfonuist sabotage plot, the UDB immediately confiscated from the
Bacteriological Institute unspecified quantities of the following micro-organisms:
a. Ustilago Carbo
b. Ustilago Segetum
c. Species of Puccinia, particularly Uredo and Telento.
2. In late J, no at a secret session of the Ljubljana F/4 District Cell,
Urbancic ,fnu), a Communist Party official stated that:
a. The Yugoslav Government denies that the recent damage to the wheat
crop was caused by the aforementioned bacteria, but nevertheless there
are strong indications that the wheat seeds were sabotaged by bacter
prior to planting.
c. The UDB allegedly has excellent information on sabotage plans and
techniques as a result of the revelations at the recent trial of
saboteurs at Novi Sad.
