On 18 May 1949, a : obi1e radar station tens seen on the hit h ground between D&boritz and Dall o'r. Two four-t,>heeled ZIS trucks with side windotrs and rear doors ware noticed. Cables led from the Flearost toles rapb pole Into the roar truck. The leading track mounted a mast which arneared to be tele.- soopica1]y adjustable. The vx.sible part of the past 'as about tided the :height of the truck. 2 The horizontal arm of the mast, which appeared to be reinforced in the rdAdle, was not supported in the middle, but ata point about lOen behind the erddle dipole.. The arm was mounted fore-and-aft on the truck, overhanging about one dis- tance bat?,eon dipoles at the rear, and halt' that distance at. the froni:. 3. There were seven diples, equally Braced, and mounted on top of the si.upport- ing arm. The lead-in was from the foremost but one (sic). It was Inroasible to tell tehethor the dipole; were divided in the middle. They ray possibly have ea cured 80-90 cm across. 4. A series of visits to the area between Doberitz and Dallgo,.r, where the mobile r dux station had been seen earlier, showed that the mobile equi 4inent had dicap.. peared, and on the sane site a semi-permanent radar installation w s being built. Attachments B and C are ahetches of the site as seen on 23 ter 1949. On 21 May, the mast, shown in the attacharnta, and also two trucks were observed. One vehicle was a Russian truck; the other was a Gen= *ton Opel ';r/ truck of box construction with two windows on each side and a rear door with a trlndoW. 6. No change in this ,area was noticed on 23 119y 1949. The mast and array Caere care-- ftlly observed (see attachments 13 and C). However.. it une imroscible to rake any accurate guess as to the length of the dipoles. CLASSIFICATION s c s /Co1YROL - us,.. IGI ~3i IILS ONaL!
