Toward the end of ?March there was a sharp curtailment in field exercises by
the Soviet occupation troops stationed in their w .nter garrisons. Local
i neuvers and alert exercises were interrupted. Troop units received
special allotments of POL and munition from division supply troops . The
fact that the transfer of these supplies to consuming units was acconnlished

and location of armored vehicles After all the prepara-
