PRIVATE FIRST CLASS YOSEIO TANAKI
RA10104224., speaking to his parents,
Mr. aid Mrs. S.Tamakt,
itts over a year now since
this Korean war has been going on, and
twilling has be en gained by us except
bloodshed and devastation on the Korean
battlefield.
"Since I have been in Korea, I have
witnessed the horrors of this war, and
what it has done to Korea. Since my cap-
ture, I was strafed and bombed by our
planes one day in a peaceful Korean vil-
lage I narrowly escaped death:
"I have seen enough, and had enough,
of this kind of war, and all I want to
see now is a peaceful settlement- of this
Korean war. I believe that is also .tel
will of all peace-loving people.
"The Chinese People' s Volunteers and
the Icor on Pc o-ole s Army are doing their
best to make our stay here most comfort-
able and pleasant for us. During our
leisure hours, we get the chance at times
to see movies, plays, inter-camp sports,
or use our camp library to Catch LID on
current war id event s. We have me a ical
care that keeps us in good health. Our
food is Well-prepared, and we always get
enough to eat." .NONA Peking Morse Eng-

"I just can't see why we come 3,000

all the harm we have done, they don't*
even treat us as their enemies, but as
the ix friends. They do not have any hate
for us or the American people.
"The American people are not gain-
ing anything from this war. All that I
can see is that they are los Ing more
sons, husbands, fathers and loved ones.

PRIVATE FIRST CLASS GARY W.FLum, RA
13747531, speaking to his Dad and folks,
Mr. Cecil P. Plum, Route 2, Tunnelton,
West Virginia:-
(b)(6)
I have been greatly surprised
at the way the Chinese people treat us,
and sure give them thanks for their good
treatment. From the treatment we are re-
ceiving it shows that these people are our
friends, instead of our enemies.
"I have expel' ienc Ca some pretty bad
things over here, such as Korean homes
and ville ;es burned to the ground and Kor-
enn c jyilians killed. I think it is o
useless thing to carry on this war hero in
Korea.
"It has been going on for over a year
and the Korean people hove suffered o
great deal. If some of the people at home
would wake up, it could be ended before
any more of our boys lose their lives and
stop the destruction in Korea.
"Tell all the folks I said 'Hell&
and am in good health, and hope to be home
with you all soon." (NONA Peking Morse
