This document consists of photostats of the minutes of a meeting of top personnel
of the SAG (Soviet Corporation) Marten, in Rettstedt. The top one third of eacu photo-
stat is more or less illegible.
The following matters were anon:g those discussed:
(a) The advantage of setting up an installation for the recovery of the nickel
lost (2 percent) in pickling will be stucbLed by the laboratory. In view of the shortage
of nickel supplies, Kerlin will be asked whether contracts shall be proportionately
reduts6d or whether further deliveries of nickel will be made.
(b) No Thomas-material now grade steeell may be used in reparation orders.
(c Some arrangement must be worked out transport moltewn aluminum from the heavy
metal foundry to the light metal foundry.
(d} The price for scrap from the wide reversing mill is 19.50 Deutsche marks per
ton; if the scrap were delivered in smaller pieces the price would be 33. Deutsche marks
per ton. Since 1,300 tons of sctap a month is sold, 200,000. Deutsche marks a year could
be gained by making the pieces smaller.
(e) It is suggested that full night shifts be instituted to conserve electric oaower.
(f) Starting in January, instead of intra plant competition there will be trade group
competition. Ultimately,, by this *eitbod., it will be the goal to find the best fitter,
the best wire-drawer, etc. in the GM. The management is urged to support this kind of
competition to assure its success.
(g) A plant committee has been set up to carry out the,organizational and ideological
work of acquainting the workers with the meaning and purpose of the national ast xermana7
program for the reconstruction of Berlin.
