In Jana ry 1952, theiTewa:Metallweberei Neustadt (Tewa-Neustadt;)thad a total of#64 looms in, operation. Most of them were engaged in the prodye tion of nickel screen number 231. Unspecified numbers of them were also engaged in the production of: a. nickel screen number 300 phosphor-bronze screen number 270 (English-inch system) c. phophor-1?ronze screen naer 270 (French-inch system). One loom was engaged in the production of pe4lon mesh to be used as parachute material. Perlon mesh prod..ction had begun in December 1951. 2. Production of phosphor-bronze screen at Tewa-Neustadt will be discontinued as soon as the wire now on the looms is completed into screen. From then on, the plant wtl.1 produce fine, nickel wire screen exclusively. 3. Two of an unspecified numbe1 of new :Zooms, which the WMW Drahtwebstuhlbau Neustadt (formerly Emil Jaeger).delffvered to Tewa-Neustadt a short time ago, are in operation. The other loom delivered by,Jaeger will be put into operation later. 4+. The prodgction plan for fine niickel wire screen in 1952 calls fort the operation of a.total of PO looms at Tewa-Neustadt. This figure includes twelve DFL looms obtained from Tewa Raguhn shortly before the end of 051;and the looms obtained from Jaeger. It is expected that two DFL looms belonging to Pabst and Ki ian,, Raguhn, wild be transferred to Tewa-Neustadt in the near future. 5, Thirty expert women weavers were sent from Tewa-Raguhj. to Neustadt ~n December 1951 to train Neu.1tadt women in the art pf fine weaving. S. OFFICIALS ONLY 6. In the past, the average number of strokes (Tourenzahi.) of a loom at Tewa-Neustadt has been 56 to 58 per minute. The maximum reached while the plant was still privately-owned (by Oskar Eilhauer) was between 60 and. 65. The average number of strokes per minute has now been reduced to between 50 and 52. Nevertheless, the average output of screen has not decreased. The average output per loom and per shift has remained about two meters of screen one meter wide, with a maximum of 2.5 meters sometimes reached by expert weavers.
