Part 1, one page, undated, cover sheet indicates that this information is for
March 195?7, is a short report on the continuing potato shortages. Potatoes are now being
confiscated from private households and given to farmers so that they can exchange them
for seedt" potatoes. People that give up potatoes voluntarily will get 14 DM for each
100 kilograms plus a coupon for 100 kilograms of briquettes.
Part 2f 7 pages, dated 20 Januaq' 1952, is a propagandistic report on the ways to
improve agricultural output. Three types of farmers are discussed; those that do not fulfill i
their quota because of inadequate schooling and training, those tktx that do not fulfill
their quota because they do not receive sufficient advice And guidance from experts, and
those that fail in quota fulfillment because of incompetence and laz-ness? Ways to treat
each type are discussed# This report also shows that farms with move than 50 hectares of
land have proportionately less output than small farms. Percentages are given to bear out
this point.
