DRAFT OF COLLECTIVE WORK CONTRACT FOR REICHSB.AB DIVISION (70 pp; German; 1951)

The document is a mimeographed copy of a draft for a collective work contract
for the plants and offices of the Reiohabahn Division Berlin 5. Seven subdivisions
can be noticed:
A preamble, containing the usual propaganda phrases;
Obligations to be assumed by various levels of management, by union leadership,
and by individuals (identified by title or by name). These obligations cover vast
spheres of activity and read very much like complete job descriptions.
Legal provisions. The contract will be valid for 1951 but will remain in
force until the 1952 contract becomes valid.
Wages and salaries are based on local classes. Wage earners are paid for
time work (ranging from .70 to 1.76 Deutsche marks per hour) or for piece
work (from .78 to 2.02 Deutsche marks per hour). Trainees receive from
55 to 100 Deutsche marks per month. Salaried personnel receive from 157 to
1,110 Deutsche marks per month, - Legal and common-law spouses are treated
on an equal basis.
Accident prevention provisions, clad in the form of obligations assumed
by offices and individuals.
Social and cultural obligations.
Social security obligations.
The contents of all subdivisions of the contract are broken down by stations
and railroad operations plants, thus providing a list of railroad facilities
of the Reichsbahn Division Berlin 5.
