RIVIOVAL OF BENZINWiRK BOEITLEN TO THE USSR
In 1947 a new project 4 became known at the Boehlen Gasoline Factory, whereby a new plant
was to be erected out of the dismantled installations of the Blechkammer, Magdeburg, Poelitz,
and Leuna hydrogenation works. The suggested location of this new plant was in Krasnoy
on Lake Baikal in Siberia, 800 km from the Manchurian border. This plant has been built,
and production started a few months before the outbreak of the Korean War.
