The information covers military installations and organization charts. Sketch I gives street location of new postwar barracks of a Polish Army motor transport unit. Text gives detailed description of buildings, type of construction of barracks and garages. Total number of cars, 150, all Soviet type. Sketch II gives the street location of "Fort Wola" barracks of a Polish Army Panzer unit. Supplementary sketch, not numbered., shows locations of living quarters, garages, warehouses, guard posts, and gives detailed physical description of garages, living quarters, and the number and type of cars and tanks. Sketch III gives street location of "Karpaty" gasoline storage dump for the Polish Army. Text gives number and capacity of tanks and describes their location alongside a railroad siding. The storage dump is located on the surface and is for the exclusive use of the Polish Army. Sketch IV shows location of motor fuel storage dumps for the Polish Army, Warsaw-Sluzewiec, railroad. siding and side elevation of underground storage facilities. Text describes underground storage which from the air appears to be level ground but a side view discloses sgparate entrances to underground storage tanks all of which are connected by wire. The entire area is fenced in with barbed wire and guarded by the army. .Sketch V gives location of "Boernerowo", an airforce school. Supplementary sketch gives location of barracks. Text gives physical description of barracks, mentions ghat the entire area is fenced in with wire netting, and gives the number of students at the time of the informant's stay in Warsaw as 1,000. It also states that civilians have been removed from the area which was to be occupied by military personnel. There is a army airfield within 2 or 3 kilometers from the school but the informant does not know the exact location. Sketch VI gives street location of 1) Main Office of Military Information, 2) Headquarers of the Ground Forces, 3) Department of Motorized Vehicles of the Polish Army. Text gives physical description of buildings and mentions some of the activities of the deparllents. Sketch VII-Organization of people's councils. In 1951 all wojewodztwo, powiat, and gmina offices were transformed into people's councils. Sketch VIII-Organization Chart of the Intelligence Service, Chief Command of the Citizens' Militia,wojewodztow, city, and powiat. Names of officials given in some instances. Sketch IX-Organization Chart of the Ministry of Public Security, wojewodztwo, powiat, and city offices, includes chief command of the Citizens' Militia and the Security Corps, In some instances, names of officials are given. 25X1X Fetch 12-"Stara Wies" newly constructed ammunition dump. Text explains sketch in detail and states that the area is 12 kilometers square, heavily wooded, and entirely fenced in by barbed wire. lRives legend for all points shown on sketch and describes each in detail, including the railroad station, railroad sidings, temporary roads, guard posts and gives a detailed physical description of storage buildings. The construction of the buildings was handled by the Construction Enterprise of the Ministry of Public Security. The plan called for the construction of 50 buildings but only seven were under roof by spring of 1951. The buildings were to be 25X1X completed by the end of 1951. The informant thinks this unlikely because of dificult transport problems. The area is electrified, the power being supplied by Otwock. It is strictly an am- munition dump. One building will accommodate about 10 cars of ammunition. Transport is made by motor car and tractor Studebaker type, and tractors with trailers. Main training school located in Legnica. Basis of distribution of EW stations and detailed location and description of Station No 21 in Sztum given. Names and biographical data on officers in charge follows. Breakdown of KBW company in Sztum given. Describes guard posts and their armament and searchlight equipment at aircraft parts plant which company guards and duties in aiding UB (Security Police). Description of uniform. Day's schedule and rations, similar to army, are given. Awards and promotions for service, marksmanship, and other accomplishments. ? Participation in military exercises is infrequent except on squad and platoon level. Service is primarily one of guarding and policing, although aid is often given in harvests and other civil enterprises. Younger element only recruited and must take political training in Legnica. Always open to voluntary enlistment. (2pp) Info on Bialoruska, 3rd Armored Div follows. Some biographic data on assistant platoon commander, Sgt Biasko, given. According to him this was an elite, volunteer division as shown by its action at Kolobrzeg and Berlin. Officers and soldiers were young and zealous. Discipline was strict and enforced by young Communist officers. Biasko belonged to completely motorized rifle regiment called "fizyljerow" (fusileers). Division composed of three tank regiments with T-311 tanks and H-5 armored cars, artillery regiment, and regiment of. "fusileers". Its strength varied because of great losses. The complenent of company, platoon, and rifle squad given. Army organization information of informant limited to knowledge that Polish Army has about 20 divisions and that HQ for army in southwest is in Legnica. Describes numb red guard posts around aircraft parts and ammunition factory, their placement as given in attached sketch and their armament. Special UB pass needed for entry. Political and German war prisoners are among the 1500 working in factory from 0800 to 1630. Two Soviet political coirmissars are in charge of plant. The KBW guards only the walls and gates. On the attached sketch each gate is denotedbii avy line and each shop entrance is marked by a number with the letter "a" with a description of what each shop holds. Production of this factory is large but unknown. Description of 3 KBW officers and 2 Soviet factory engineers given.
