PLANNED RAILROAD PROJECTS IN BERLIN (1 p; German;

The document consists of a typewritten page extracted from the minutes of
a Berlin City Planning Commission meeting on 21 May 1952. The information covers
three items:
1. Plans for a junction station were discussed. The 6ity Planning Commission
submitted a plan for locating the station at Lehrte Station in Berlin. The Reichsbahn
had previously developed a plan locating the new station in the center of the city.
It was decided that both organizations should cooperate in further developing both
plans.
2. Erwin Kramer, Director General of the Reichsbahn, reported on the following
current projects: remodeling of Lichtenberg station in Berlin, necessity to plan elec-
trification of the Lichtenberg-Marzahn-Ahrensfelde railroad line, shortening of the
Outer Belt line at Blankenburg, other changes in the Outer Belt line, and planning
of the shunting station Wuhlheide. Lo detail given,
3. Upon suggestion of the Directorate General of-he Reichsbahn a 50-meter
wide safety zone will be established along the railroadiracks in which no construction
will be allowed.
