Below is a key to the attached photostat of SL;rINOUJSCIE Channel:-
1 Soviet Naval Base which usually contains minestireepers and IMI.T.B.s but sometimes
submarines and destroyers. In July 1954 there was a greater nnnber of small
Soviet vessels than usual in the basin.
2 - A coaling station in which 2 new cranes have been recently installed. Foreign
merchant ships as well as Soviet and .L'olish vessels coal at this station.
3 _ 2 3-ton travelling cranes behind which are 2 buildings and some stores. At
times a Soviet naval vessel is tied up near the cranes. Ai Soviet naval guard
is posted over the cranes.
