Available at the CIA Library is a complete set of photographic copies
of Verfuegungen und Mitteilungen aa Minlsteriums fuer Maschinenbau,
the official publication of the Ministry for Machine Construction in
East Germany. The first issue, dated 12 December 1953, bears greetings
from the Ministry for Machine Construction, Heinrich Rau. Other issues
contain articles on improvement of working and living conditions for the
workers, increased consumer..goods production, the handling of contracte,
(Handhabung des Vertragssystems), technical and special schools uncler
the Ministry for Machine Construction, increased efforts to oampefi tn
the world market, and other 4milar subjects of interest to the
'enterprises of the Ministry. '

Comment. It is probable that quite a few of the issues
in the attachment are duplicates of issues distributed during the
year. However, the attachment contains every issue published during
the period and so is,,forwarded for what intelligence value it may
