1, A glider field was constructed by the Germans during the war immediately east of
the city of Inowroolaw (N 52?1489 8 18-16)9 between Inowroclaw and the village of
Dalkow (N 52.?48, 1 18-19), A hangarfl which held 12 gliders for a aaber of years,
is located on the airfields A school for training glider instructors and probably
officer candidates for the Air Force is also located on the field. The training
which begins in April and ends in September is handled by some 20 instructors who
wear Polish Air Force uniforms. The gliders are towed by propeller-driven planes
from the military airfield.
2e The Germans constructed a well-.quipped military airfield during the war about 4
kilometers northeast of Inovroclaw on the estate of LstkoWo {N 2-50, $ 18-18).
When the Germans retreated, the field was badly damaged and all the buildings
were razed, Clearing work was begun on the airfield in 19!49 and reconstruction
of buildings took place during 1951514,
39 The military airfield measures 1.8 kilometers by 2 kilometers and has two concrete
rx ays which cross each other, The rw ways are nearly 2 kilometers in length and
at the most 140 meters in widths Two hangars are located at the northerx,part of the
field near the village of Latkowoe Some new buildings and rebuilt houses belonging
to the estate and village of Latkowo,have been turned into a barracks for a Polish
Air Force regiment which is stationed on the airfield, The regiment has about 140
props llerrdriven planes at its disposals During the summer, ho!svsri this number
is often doubled, In the summer there are occasionally jet planes bearing Soviet
or Polish markings on the fields .e
