1. Location
Piotrkow, Poland, lies southwest of Warsaw on the Czestochowa - Radomsko -
Piotrkow - Skierniewice - Warsaw line, and southeast of Lodz.
2. Location of airfield
The airfield is located 5 3/4 kilometers northeast of the Piotrkow
railroad station, 700 meters southeast of the Piotrkow - Tomaszow highway
and 2,000 meters from the church tower in Uezczyn. The airfield is rectangular,
with its long side running from northeast to southwest. It is 2,400 meters
long and 1,400 meters wide.

The field has two parallel concrete runways. They are 2,000 meters long
and 50 meters wide, running from northeast to southwest, 300 meters apart from
each other, and are located 550 meters from the north side and 500 meters
the south side of the field.

Airplane park: IL 28-2 bombers. [Butcher]
The plane has two jet engines, mounted under the
wings near the fuselage. The wings are swept back
at a 40 degree angle and are equipped with booster
rockets at their tips. The plane has a crew of 3 men,
i.e. pilot, navigator who is also the bombardier,
and a gunner.
The plane has the following equipment: Radar
, six 23-mm guns rigid guns
in the wings, 2 guns in the waist and 2 guns in the
tail). The tail guns are remote-controlled by the
gunner. Training exercises consisted of bombing
flights with four 250-kilogram training bombs.

5.Buildings
Hangars
Two center hangars, each 120 x 80 meters, (see No 4,) center of
northwest side.
Two outer hangars, each 85 x 55 meters, (see No 5), center of northwest
side.
All four hangars are of reinforced concrete construction with brick
walls, flat roofs, anft sliding doors.
Two warehouses (see No 6)
Located at the southern half of the northii side. They are one-story
t;
35 x 15 meter brick structures. Fuel and lubricants are stored in the
northeast warehouse. Spare parts and spare motors are stored in the

southern warehouse. West of the hangars, (see No 4) is a one-story
building.

This building is a three-story building with a flat roof and is

located in the western corner. In the center of the building is
the flight control tower.
Garrison ccomplex (see No 9)
The garrison buildings are located west of the center of the
northwest side, between the airfield and the Piotrkow - Tomassow
highway. The garrison buildings cover an area 400 x 300 meters and
consist of eight 60 x 20 meter, two-story buildings, two one-story
buildings, two groups of garages and two groups of depots.

These are located along the entire southeast side. 30 airplane
dispersal stations are located in the forest. The dispersal
stations are surrounded by old beach trees and earth revetments.
6_ Fencing
The entire airfield is surrounded by barbed wire. The garrison, fuel
depot, and bomb depot have separate fences.
7. Radio, radar, and met $' i1oaical stag tion
Radio
An ultra-high-frequency installation is located in the headquarters
building (see No 8). The antenna is mounted on an iron frame on top
of the flight control tower. The antenna is concave and has a
diameter of 2 meters.
Radar (see No 12)
A permanent radar station is located in the southern corner of the
airfield. The station has two 3 x 3 meter parabola which are mounted on
an 8 to 10 meter high trellis mast on top of small concrete structures.

Meteological station
None. itind socks are hung in front of the hangars and anemometers are
located on the roof of the hangars.
Fuel depot, (see No 13)
The central fuel depot is located northeast of the garrison complex
(see No 9.)

It is located in the woods between the airfield and the Piotrkow -

Tomaszow highway. The depot has its own road to the garrisons.
It covers an area of 180'meters by 80 meters and is surrounded by
barbed wire. The number of subterranean tanks is not known; however,
sand and gravel mounts (4 to 5 meters high),
with grassy ~ Fuel lines lead from the central
fuel depot to four fuel stations on the airfield (see No 14),-
2 between the southern half of the two runways and 2 between the
northern half'of.two runways. The fuel stations are covered with
concrete blocks. The cover must be removed to use the rubber fuel hose.
A munition
On the northeast side of the inner part of the garrison complex are
6 corrugated sheet metal ammunition barracks (see No 15). 1
munitions depot is located in the woods 300-meters southeast of
the center of the south side (see No 16).
4 wooden barracks and 2 concrete bunkers.
Medium bombs are reportedly stored here.
Barbed wire fencing [probably around the barracks and
bunkers.].
10. Electric Hower
Above-ground power lines 100 meters northwest of the Piotrkow - Tomaszow
highway bring the power to the field from the power plant in Piotrkow.
(see No 10) The branch circuit (see No 11) branches off [from the main
power line) roughly at the point where the highway branches off to the
garrison complex. Cable.
11, Road ,and A"JIMad connection
The Piotrkow - Tomaszow highway with its branch to the airfield runs
in a northwesterly direction along the north side of the field. The
branch from the highway is blocked by a barrier. There is no railroad
connection.
12. -Illumination
The highest peaks of trees lying in the take-off path tame illuminated.
