2. in early July 1955 there was a
secret trial in Brno of a group of Social Democrats, about 10 people,
most of whom were employees of the Investment Bank in Brno. These indi?
viduals were arrested in early 1955 and charged with financing under?
ground activities. The funds were allegedly donated from their awn
salaries. The sentences were from 10 to 15 years. Another group of
Social Democrats was to be brought to secret trial in July or August
1955. This group was larger than the first group, and the sentences
were expected to be more severe. The second group was said to have been
arrested in connection with the return of former minister Bohumil Lausmann,
