Available at the CIA Library is a photographic copy of the 1954 research
and development plan of the Heinrich Hertz Institute of the East German
Academy of Sciences. The plan itemizes the subjects to be followed during
1954 by (1) project title; (2) short title (Kerinwort); (3) methods to be
used; (4) estimates on the division of the work. Project titles include:
theory, of travelling wave Magnetrons; construction of a magnetic field
tube for the millimeter wave band; examination of kinetic reaction in
semi-conductors; construction of an apparatus for the technical measurements
of detectors in the microwave band; and other similar subjects.
