1. The VEB Schwermaeohinenbau Ernst Thaelmann, Magdeburg, was working on the
following rolling mill equipment in August 1955'
a. For export to the USSR' a 250 rolling train for light sections
(Feineieenstrasse), a 250 wire rod rolling train (Drahtstraeee),
three 250 rolling trains for light sections and wire rode (to be
completed in 1957), and various types of cranes.
be For export to Chinas a blooming mill for 3 to 5 ton ingots, including
a 250 blooming mill train,
o. For domestic uses parts for a new wire rod rolling train for the VEB
Stahlwerk Brandenburg, whose mechanical and electrical components are
being supplied by the Czech Skoda plant; a 400 euperrefined steel
rolling train (Edeletahletraese) for the VEB Edelstahlwerk Doehlen,
which is also receiving Czech equipment; and a rolling train for
light sections for the VtB Walzwerk Finow.
d. New production at the plant includes rollers for the cold rolling of
steel and nonferrous alloys.
2. The VEB Maschinenfabrik "John Scheer", Meueelwitz, is working on 24 tube
rolling mills for the USSR.
