,dredger--is an area of the basin where iron and concrete piles were being driven
into the bottom, the water pumpbd out, and the space behind the piles filled
with earth and concrete. Behind the pilings the slipways of the shipyard extended
to the shore. A large building, either a factory or associated with the shipyard,
was under construction in this area. Another similar area of pilings appears
in front of the hammerhead crane. the large crane
visible over the dredger was temporarily mounted and that the boom was propped
up. Along the bank in front of this crane were facilities for the repair and
construction of ships.
