Plzen Roudna Ammunition Dump
Located dust west-northwest of the confluence of the Mze and Radbuza
rivers, on a rocky hill
the installation began in 1953. The entrance to the underground dump is
located at the southwestern end The
informant does not know the dimensions of this storage dump, but heard that
cave-ins have occurred in a gallery located 200 meters from the entrance.
A guard post is located near the entrance; it consists of a one-story
structure of hard materials [other than wood], !i%I~ meters. The guard con-
tingent, oomposed of 5 men, is relieved every 24 hours. The area is not
enclosed and there is no sign prohibiting access to it. Nevertheless, when-
ever ar~one approaches the dump, the guards intervene at once and prevent
him from loitering there. The ammunition is brought in at night by truck.
Only deliveries were observed (ammunition for submachine guns, rifles, etc.);
The entrance to the dump was illuminated by searchlights.
II Zidovskeho Erbitova Ammunition Dump
Located on a rocl~r hill south of the Plzen-Prague national highway
and bordering on the south-south~nestern edge of the Jewish cemetery and
on the east side of the secondary road which connects Bozkov to the national
highw
The dump, which is about 600%200 meters, was built in
1953-195l~. The entrance must be at the north-northwestern end of the hill
for the ammunition trucks always go to that area. Observation

is always impossible because of the existence of a screen of trees and bushes.
In April 1955, the informant observed far the first time ammunition-laden
army trucks entering the area. During the suianer, the informant observed
trucks carry~.ng ammunition boxes similar to those for 82-imm mortar shells;
never saw arty withdrawals of ammunition. This installation is constantly
guarded by a contingent of 30 men supplied by the units billeted in the
Slovany barracks; their meals are brought to them. The guard is relieved
twice weekly. Two guards, stationed at the entrance, check on vehicles ?
entering or exiting, while the other guards patrol along the enclosure. 25X1
