The book is an excellent textbook for graduate study. It is very good from a teaching point of view, and Ian) considering using some of the author's examples in a course which I teach on semiconductors. The only sitilar book in the US is titled, "Electrons and Holes" by W Shockley of the Bell Telephone Laboratories.
