1. The important oil wells in the Ukaine are in the Droaobyc4 Oblast area and are
located in the cities of Dro#obych and in Borislav.
2. The largest % refinery, and most important, is in the village of Shidnycza which
is near Dro iobych. Immediately after the end of hostilities in this area, this
refinery was completely equipped with Russian machinery rom.Bak7.
3. This refinery produced 10,000 liters of aviation gasoline daily; the entire
production was used by Soviet Air Forces.
4. Petroleum products produced in the Ukraine were for domestic consumption and for
use by the Armed Forces, only, and none were exported. Petroleum products
produced in this area were stored in concrete-underground cisterns at strategically
located naptha bases. Other petroleum. products were transported from place of
production to the USSR by railroad and motor tank transports, and presumably
stockpiled in cities such as Kiev and Lvov, and elsewhere.
5. In the city of Detroit there exists two Ukrainian nationalistic groups which are
dixect off-shoots of the Melnyk and Bandera movements. The first such organization
is4ODVU (which means OB'yednanya Derzhavnoho Vidrodzhenya Ukrainy). The leader
of the ODVU in Detroit is Mr Mykola Semehen. This a~ is a Melynk group. The other
group, consisting of Bandera sympathizers, is theU.Ch.S.U. (Defense for the
Four-Freedoms of Ukraine). Leader of this group is Mr (fnu) Duzh . This group
is in constant opposition to the Ukrainian National Rada (Council of Munich,
