,"Pulled ola:' Semi-tanned sheep skins has been a booming business
here for several years, and never greater than last year. Skins
have had to be brought into this country from T" rkey and Iraq in
or r to meet the demand.. These all go to Italy, chierly Naples,
and no one here can understand what Italy does with these unless it
is to sell them discreetly behind the Iron Curtain, The consequence
of all this is that there has been a good and continued supply of
pulled voole - some of those from Baghdad skins being particularly
satisfactory,"
