PROFESSOR KAREL POKORNI -CREATOR OF ETERNAL VALUES.
The works of foremost Czech and Slovak artists are well-known
throughout the world.StatePrize winner.Pressor Karel PokornS'r
is one of the contemporary Czech sculptors,Whose works have been
distinguished at art exhibitions at home and abroad.He is a pupil
of the famous Czech sculptor Professor Myslbek.Professor PokorO's
works express his great love of Czech people and its history.
Among his pre-war creations are to be mentioned works dealing with
social themes and showing a realistic choracterouch as the statue
catastrophy
"Fallen Soldier"/1926/,the memorial to the victims of a mine . oe -t
at Lazy near Orlova,Moravireliefsodorning the National Liberation
Museum in Prague and others. After the liberation of the Republic
by the Soviet army,Professor Pokorny created his most outstanding
work - the sculpture group "Brotherhood", a symbol of eternal'
friendship between the people of Czechoslovakia ond the people of
the Soviet union and its army.

up at the Red Army Hall of the National Liberation Museum in Prague.
