The camera is looking West Southwest towards the Rock of Gibraltar (36? 09' N-

25' W) which is a maximum of tenniiles distant. Photographer was standing
on the main coast road. Photograph was taken on or about 1 Feb 1954.
.Photo Marked: "Spain: Mountains near Torremolinos"
Photographer was standing one half mile West of the center of Torremolinos
(this place is not listed in the NIS Gazetteer. However it lies approximatel
ten miles West of Malaga (36? 45.' N- 4? 251 w)) and looking North Northeast.
Photographer was standing between the town and. the ocean (which is two or thre
hundred yards from the viewer). The mountains are from one and.one half tp
two miles distant. In the foreground are sugar cane fields which are typical
of this region. The building on top of thehill is a school. The mountains
are easily climbed. The photographs was taken on or about 1 Feb 1954.

This view was taken on the main coast road, which is a macadam road and is
the same one as the road in the photograph marked "Spain: Gibraltar" (above).
This phdrograph was taken about 500 yards from the ocean, which is in back of
the viewer. The camera is pointed due North. The mountains in the background

os" (above). The photograph was taken one mile East of the town and was
taken on or about 1 Feb 1954.
4. Photo Marked: "Spain: Malaga in Distance"
This was taken standing on the main coast road (see photo above) looking
East towards the city of Malaga (36? 45' N- 40 25' W). The railroad is
a single track road which runs East and West of Malaga. The photograph
was taken on or about 1 Feb 1954. The road in the foreground is a dirt
branch road.

5.Photo Marked:"Spain: Malaga
This photograph was taken on or about 1 Feb 1954 at a point ten miles West
of Malaga looking East towards the city. The main coast road is in the
foreground. In the vicinity of this photograph lies a coastal plain which
begins just. West of Malaga and rued West to Torremolinos,, or a distance of
about ten miles. This plain varies in width from one half mile to three
miles. At either end are fingers of the mountain range which lies to the
North (see photograph marked "Spain: Mountains near Torremolinos" and
"Spain: House near Torremolinois"). The mountains vary in height from 500
to 1500 or 2000 feet. Sugar cane is raised on this coastal plain.
