Subject: Report of activities of London Bureau covering month ending 15 June 1948. Tot Chief, FBIB. From:Chief, London Bureau, FBIS. I. Implementation of recently proposed plans and policies. The Chief, FBIB, concluded his discussions the month and returned to Washington. The opportunlTy or scuss ng with him London Bureau problems afforded by his visit was extremely beneficial to this outpost. Representatives of Fiscal and I & S also visited this bureau during the month. With them a complete examination of administrative activities and procedures of the outpost was conducted. II. Accomplishment of overall mission including firmly established individual objectives. The volume of wordage filed to Washington during the month dipped slightly to a total of 835,993, as compared with the previous month's figure of 851,094 words. Of this 835,993 words, 833,161 words were transmitted via Army Signal Corps facilities, and only 2,832 via Western Union. G?2 EUCOA1, OIC OMGUS, and ODI OMGUS each received 111,510 words of the gntput of the report section. The American Embassy in Paris received 44,720 words. A total of 186,601 words of was Also relayed to Washington during the month. III. Proposals for improvement. The general review of reports, mentioned in this section of last months report, was continued. Although this survey is not yet concllided, on the basis of information to hand G-2 USFA was eliminated from the distribution list. An analysis of the London file was received from Washington.
