UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT Memorandum TO : Chief, Engineering Staff, FBIS FROM : Electronic Technician, Hokkaido Bureau, IBIS DATE: 26 MAY, 1964 1. SUBJECT: Equipment and Facilities Report The following developments regarding bureau equipment and facilities are brought to your attention: (a) Two Model 28 KSR teletype machines were received, assembled and . placed in service. One is being used as the receive machine in the teletype room, the other, with' the addition of the Cyrillic type basket also received, has replaced the Model 15 machine formerly used in conjunction with the radiosteletype rack. STAT (b) Regarding your letter to filter capacitors for modification o dated 17 April, 1964, the two he prototype Monitoring Amplifier/ Control Panel power supply were received and installed in the unit. It was determined by experimentation that an increase of 1000 uf to the output of the filter did not appreciably reduce the hum level. (The input capacitor of the unit already contained 2000 uf.) A practically negligible hum level was achieved by paralleling the 2000 uf across the input capacitor and paralleling the 3000 uf across the original output 2000 uf capacitor.
