1. After the Egyptian Governavontle grudging renewal of laissea-
Passers for REIDAlbanian monitors, Albanian language coverage was
resumed at the Mediterranean Bureau on 20 Nay 1950.
2. ISpanolon and improvamett of REID coverage of Indochina has
resulted with the entrance on duty at Okinawa of the first of the
monitors recently recruited in Indochina. However, emergency cover-
age will continue in Tokyo until the second moult has arrived and
demonstrated his ability.
At the request of ORS, a special report entitled 'Prelimin-
ary Statewent of Results of Quantitative Analysis of the Trend of
0Waraindetnesse in Soviet Radio Propaganda During the Past Rear."
was prepared. A special report, "Soap Station Characteristics of
Asian Radios Ybrmorly Monitored at Raven,' vasprepared and repro..

. 4. The loss of considerable coverage of Natolibroadcasts to
Japan arising from the indefinite hospitalisation of the West Coast
Bureanis Japanese monitor has bean remedied by the tovporary
esploy-
nent of a native Japanese monitor at the Tokyo Bureau,
5. Several prospective candidates for monitoring broadcasts
in the Tibetan lapse have been lotated in Japan, and efforts are
being made to employ the most suitable candidate for regular cover-
age of the new Peking broadcast to Tibet. Atmoadeast in 'Mich ORS
and cam', Dept. of State, have expressed considerable interest,
