Following up on the conversation between and 25X1 myself as to whether lass A contract personnel should or could be exempted from the polygraph we contacted Security for definitive Statements on Class A and Class a type clearances and whether Class A contract personnel could be exempt from the polygraph, The Office of Security statements follow: Class A - Class A contract personnel are investigated for full and no exception may be made. All U.S. citizen contract employees should have Class A clearance. Class 9 - Employees Riven Class B contracts are subjected to sae clearance procedures that personnel are who are cleared for access to material through secret, i.e. provisional clearance. They may be witting or unwitting. otwkthstanding the fact that a person may be "cleared through secret; which is simply a clearance term, he may have no access to classified material nor to the areas in w1d-C-h-Yt is kept. This type of clearance is reserved for non-U.S. citizens and for those citizens who cannot qualify for full staff employment, i.e. married to an alien, less than five years as a U.S. citizen, and other limiting factors, but whose 25X1 qualifications are unique and, therefore, necessary.
