I think. it may be of some interest to Dr. banger that D1S0,
according to my o~.*n e~.peri~~nce, is dissat3.sfied 4ri.th the fact that
it is from time tc time renuested to assist D/NE in the preparation
of its estimates.
Dn 1 bSay during the preparation of a memorandum on the Iransa-n
situation for the P?SC, and on the instructions of Dr. T~anger that I
25X1A9a obtain the views of other CIA offices, I went to Dr, - in DSO, 25X1A9a
Althounh Dr,~allowed r.:e to confer with O~SC~s Iranian special-
ists, he did so wi .very Hoot rrrace. During my conversation with
him he indicated that:
(a}? DSO was beinn overburdened with requests from ONE,
(b} 0/SO personnel were not ps.id to "estimates1, but to produce

(c} D/SO personnel had more than they could do to ?.eep up with
their own iobs, e.nd didntt have time to help DlATE to do its job,

tually saw were most helpful and cordial and offered to assist us
