SIGNIFICANCE: JORDANIAN ARMOR HAS BEEN OBSERVED HEADING NORTH TOWARD SYRIA IN THE VICINITY OF IRBID AR1'ff BARRACKS. IRBID ARMY BARRACKS IS AT 32-32-45N 035-52-02E. THE TANKS WERE LOCATED AT 32-27-OON 035-56-40E WHICH IS ONLY 7.5 NM SW OF THE SYRIAN BORDER AND 6. 5 NM SE OF THE IRBID AR`-IY BARRACKS. MISSION READOUT: SIX JORDANIAN TANKS, PROBABLY M-48 WITH EXTERNAL FUEL TANKS ,'.AND GUNS IN THE TRAVEL POSITION , WERE SEEN MOVING NORTH TOWARDS THE SYRIAN BORDER. ALSO IN THE VICINITY OF THE IRBID ARMY BARRACKS WERE 47 ADDI- TIONAL TANKS, SIX 105 MN SP HOWITZERS, SEVEN M113 APC AND TWO PROBABLE SARACEN APC.
