THIS GRAPHIC DEPICTS THE FIRST IDENTIFICATION
OF A PROBABLE MISSILE SERVICING TENT AND THE
HIGHEST NUMBER OF FARMER AIRCRAFT OBSERVED
IN NORTH KOREA.. THIS IS ALSO THE HIGHEST
NUMBER OF FISHBED AIRCRAFT OBSERVED AT THIS
AIRFIELD.
AIRFIELD IS LOCATED THREE NAUTICAL MILES (NM~
NORTH OF KAECHON AND ONE NM SOUTHWEST OF
PUGWON-NI AT 39-45-03N 125-54-14E.
SAAMCHAM AIRFIELD WAS FIRST OBSERVED IN
EARLY 1956 WF~T THE FIELD CONSISTED OF A
6,748 X 224 FOOT NORTHEAST~SOUTHWEST CONCRETE
RUNWAY. BY THE AIRFIELD CONSISTED 25X1
OF ONE 8,200 X 165 FOOT NORTHEAST~SOUTHWEST
SERVICEABLE CONCRETE RUNWAY WITH A PARALLEL
TAXIWAY, TWO END-CONNECTIlVG AND TWO CROSS-
OVER LINKS, AND A LOOP TAXIWAY.
