Meeting on 23 April 1980
Following are topics which will be discussed at our Warning
Meeting scheduled for 1400 hours on 23 April:
Chin a
An assessment of the recent NPC standing committee meeting.
Does it have implications in the warning sphere? Are the
Chinese now fully locked on their current course?
What weight should be given to the recent Aleksandrov
article apparently holding out an olive sprig to China?
Is there any significance in the return of a Chinese
ambassador to I?o scow? What is the meaning of the relatively
muted Soviet propaganda regarding China? What countervailing
indications have developed in the past month?
Any sign of change in the Chinese approach to Vietnam?
Indochina: Any change in Vietnamese approach to its economic
problems? How does it assess its international position at
the moment? ?-dhat are Vietnamese military prospects in
Kampuchea? How strong is the DK as the dry season closes?
Is there a Heng Samrin government in real operation?
