SUBJECT: Senior Interdepartmental Group Meeting
on East-West Relations
On March 6 Ambassador Stoessel chaired the first
meeting of the SIG on East-West Relations. Partici-
pants are listed at Tab A. The group briefly reviewed
the terms of reference circulated earlier. The group
agreed to meet again on T ii-r-)~Wag--march 12._.at 3:00 p.m.
for a further discussion of the terms of ref-e-rEnrILT wi h
a view to reducing the package to a manageable size.
Further SIG meetings concerning Libya and Pakistan
will be subsequently announced. An inter-agency group
paper on Libya will be circulated March 9 and the IG
paper on Pakistan March 7.
