The contribution rate for eligible employees would increase from
7% to 10% effective 30 June 1971.
3. In checking with a responsible professional staff member
of the Subcommittee which would consider this measure, we were
informed that the prospects for favorable action were not bright. On
the other hand, it had been earlier reported to us that the Director
of the FBI had been assured that the President would support an FBI
move to acquire the above benefits.
4. We will continue to monitor the, status of this i slation.
