Closed Circuit TV An exterior security closed circuit TV is now being installed When completed, a guard posted at the main warehouse will be able to monitor the entire compound. In addition to increasing efficiency, an entire guard post will be eliminated. 7. Reproduction Machines An extensive research program has been completed which revealed that a capability exists for surreptitiously obtaining images of classified documents from standard office reproduction machines. A report of this finding was pre- sented to the Security Committee of the USIB. Technical briefings have been given to representatives from ACSI, State, NSA and ONI. 8. ARFCOS Procedures A representative of the Physical Security Division participated in the overseas review of ARFCOS facilities and procedures as a member of a special study group under the direction of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Improvements were recommended. 9. Training of Overseas Personnel A total of =Agency personnel scheduled to go overseas were provided training in physical security procedures and equipment such as installing and maintaining alarm systems, repair of safekeeping equipment and the proper handling and Approved For Release 2002/06/18 : CIA-RDP83B00823R000400110010-1 Approved *Release 2002/06/18 CIA-RDP83B00SR000400110010-1 use of document destruction devices. Agency personnel destined for overseas posts were also provided training and familiarization courses in firefighting, riot control and general safety subjects. In support of this program, an additional professional employee was assigned to the Physical Security Division to assist the Agency in meeting the Presidential objectives. He has initiated a program to brief new employees on "SAFETY-70" and has prepared and disseminated appropriate notices concerning the program to Headquarters components and field stations. 11. Perimeter Protection Alarms Out of a number of new alarm systems being studied, a seismic wave technique has been identified as possessing excellent potential in affording perimeter protection for installations outside of Headquarters. Preliminary field tests have been completed. 12. Headquarters Guard Program In coordination with General Services Administration a survey was conducted of the guard conditions at the Headquarters Building. As a result of this survey approximately 29 guard positions were eliminated by revamping relief procedures without substantive loss of security protection. 13. Riot Control At the request of Saigon station a study was made of available foam throwers and tear gas dispensers and a report on the results of this study were forwarded to Saigon.
