MEMORANDUM FOR: Chief, Policy and Plans Group
SUBJECT Office of Security Monthly Report
1. Forwarded herewith are the statistics for the
Personnel Security and Investigations Directorate (PSI)
for the month of April 1975.
a. Total Clearance Division receipts for
April 1975 decreased by 45 cases as compared
to March 1975 (1926-1971); field receipts also
decreased by 24 cases (746-770). Total com-
pletions for April decreased by 96 cases as
compared to March (2197-2293); field comple-
tions also decreased by 116 cases (970-1086).
Total pending cases for April were down 271
cases as compared to March (2838-3109); field
pending cases were also down 224 cases (1514-
1738).
b. Figures concerning covert receipt cases
for April showed a decrease of 90 cases as com-
pared to March (770-860). The pending SAA's for
April were down 15 cases as compared to March
(542-557). ISS & IST receipts for April decreased
by only 8 cases as compared to March (335-343);
completions showed a slight increase of 20 cases
(285-265). Pending ISS # IST cases for April
were up 50 cases as compared to March (749-699).
c. April receipts for reinvestigations
increased by 12 cases as compared to March (52-
40). Reinvestigation completions increased by
162 cases as compared to March (235-73). Pending
reinvestigations for April were down 183 cases as
compared to March (284-467).

2. There were no significant trends noted during the
reporting period.
3. Highlights for the reporting period included the
following;

a. Field Office support and coordination was
rendered during the movement of two and one-half
tons of Saigon Station records from Saigon to
Headquarters.
.b. Assistance was provided for two courier
trips from Headquarters to Saigon; one by the New
Saigon Security officer with 300 pounds of To
Secret material; the other by a =01foo 25X1A
Office agent with 75 pounds of Top Secret material.
c. Branch statistics for March/
April bring the FY-75 accomplishment figures to 1.75
cases per man per day and a report production figure
of 39.4%.

participated in a three-day Office of Training
sponsored surveillance training exercise for case
officers who are being prepared for denied area
assignments.
